Modelling and Analysis of Various Grid Protocols in a Simple and General Manner

چکیده
In the recent years, data replication schemes have been developed which use logical grid structures for managing the replicated data 4, 12, 19]. Grid structure-based protocols have been proven to be extremely eecient due to the high availability of read and write operations they ooer and due to the very small number of copies which have to be accessed during an operation execution. Although the diierent grid protocols use logical grids, their semantics and interpreting algorithms vary from scheme to scheme. This has the disadvantage that switching from one kind of grid protocol to another one, e.g. because of changing network or application characteristics , results in the re-implementation of the new protocol. But a well-known fact is that implementing and re-implementing replication schemes is extremely time-and money-consuming. Furthermore, these are highly error-prone tasks which must be consequently avoided. By designing a general framework which separates the policy from the mechanism these drawbacks can be overcome: a framework based on a canonical grid structure and a general algorithm for processing the grid conveniently allow the switch between diierent schemes simply by replacing the scheme-speciic grid structures. There is no need of modifying a single line of code. The purpose of this paper is to present such a general framework for grid protocols. The framework allows their exploration in a homogeneous and simple way. For this purpose, we show how to model popular grid protocols as instances of the framework, thereby demonstrating that grid protocols which look quite diierent at rst glance share a common concept of construction. Additionally, we explain how new grid protocols with various properties can be designed by using the framework in a graphical way.

Dynamic Modelling of a Compressed Air Energy Storage System in a Grid Connected Photovoltaic Plant
The use of photovoltaic (PV) cells in domestic and industrial applications has grown rapidly through the recent years. Constructing PV plants is a very smart measure to produce free electricity in large scales, especially in the countries with higher solar irradiation potential. On the other hand, compressed air energy storage (CAES) has already been proposed to be employed for energy storage a...
متن کاملA Simple and Systematic Approach for Implementing Boundary Conditions in the Differential Quadrature Free and Forced Vibration Analysis of Beams and Rectangular Plates
This paper presents a simple and systematic way for imposing boundary conditions in the differential quadrature free and forced vibration analysis of beams and rectangular plates. First, the Dirichlet- and Neumann-type boundary conditions of the beam (or plate) are expressed as differential quadrature analog equations at the grid points on or near the boundaries. Then, similar to CBCGE (direct ...
متن کاملA New Control Method for Single-Phase Grid-Connected Inverter Using Instantaneous Power Theory
Because of installation for local consumers and since it is free of all contaminations, connecting photovoltaic cells to the grid via single-phase inverter is significantly on the rise. In this paper, a new simple current control is proposed for a single-phase grid-connected voltage source inverter. Using the PQ theory and modelling a single-phase system as an unbalanced three-phase system, a m...
متن کاملNumerical Modelling of the Segmental Lining of Underground Structures
There are several methods for analysing the behaviour of underground structures under different loading conditions. Most of these methods have many simplifications; therefore, in some cases, the results are too conservative and a very high safety factor, usually of more than 2 is needed. On the other hand, for stability analysis and the designing of support systems, these methods consider segme...
متن کاملOptimization of the Analysis of Almond DNA Simple Sequence Repeats (SSRs) Through Submarine Electrophoresis Using Different Agaroses and Staining Protocols
Simple sequence repeat (SSR markers or microsatellites), based on the specific PCR amplification of DNA sequences, are becoming the markers of choice for molecular characterization of a wide range of plants because of their high polymorphism, abundance, and codominant inheritance. Different methods have been used for the analysis of the SSR amplified fragments being submarine agarose electropho...
